Here's what I've watched recently:
Trollhunter: Entertaining found footage film that made me nauseous (queasycam) and could have been trimmed by 20 minutes easily. Brilliantly simple catalyst.
The Princess of Montpensier: Gorgeous film that I later realized was Cyrano without the nose.
The Take: Earlyish Tom Hardy in Brit gangster series with twists and OMG who's really the bad guy?! Plus, Brian Cox! Also, has Kierston Waering ever had a role where she doesn't do that sobbing, slurping wine out of a glass while her nose runs thing?
Downton Abbey: Days of our Lives in England with money. Slip and fall miscarriages! Phony weddings! Paralysis! I'm just waiting for the twins (one evil) to show up.
The Tudors: The Take with money and beheadings and starring Jonathan Rhys-Meyers' upper lip instead of Tom Hardy's.
Bunraku: Comic book anime gangster cowboy story with lots of stunts. Too bad everybody missed the pokerfaced role Josh Hartnett was born to play. (Like Keanu as Neo.) Plus, Ron Perlman!
